Joanneke studied communication and completed her master’s degree at the University of Amsterdam. Then pursued a career in media, working in marketing. This has laid the foundation for her keen understanding of people’s needs and her ability to translate these desires into concrete solutions.
From an early age she was surrounded by craftsmen such as ceramists, glassblowers and metalworkers. Creating something from scratch fascinates her. This has led Joanneke to train as a traditional cabinet maker and later to open her own small atelier. It became clear, however, that her true interest lies in shaping the broader scope. This is what motivated her to take the next step and study spatial design.
